About the project

SATHScale project aims to address the challenge of reach an industrial readiness and maturity for market introduction of SATH technology through scaling-up DemoSATH, the ongoing open-sea 2MW demonstrator that will be deployed at BiMEP (Biscay Marine Energy Platform) in Biscay (Spain).

Enhance SMEs profitability and growth performance

Contribute with the decarbonization

Seize new market and business opportunities in the EU and beyond

Demonstrate European Added Value

Project structure
Saitec and SATH Technology

We aim to introduce into the market a solution of floating offshore wind turbines that is scalable and competitive. We have developed SATH floating foundation technology, an innovative solution feasible for shallow and deep waters. It is based on the efficient use of concrete, which also provides four significant advantages:

  • Lower cost materials
  • Reduced maintenance costs
  • Durability. Extending the life of the platform.
  • Supports local content for the construction of the platform.

Implemented at commercial scale, it will allow a reduction in LCoE, over the current floating technology to reach the sector objective of 50 – 55 €/MWh.
